How the baits are made
Mike founded Trout Made after serving in the U.S. Navy, turning years on the water from Southern California to the Eastern Sierra into a dedicated tackle company. He runs operations from Ontario, California, testing and fishing the lineup on waters that stretch out to Pyramid Lake.
Our baits are made in Southern California with plastics, colors, and flake, designed in colorways that follow what trout actually eat: insects, crustaceans, amphibians, and baitfish. Mini jigs are hand-dipped and single-blade cut for clean action in the current. Jig heads are poured locally by Captain Jig Hooks, and Kyle of Knockout Fishing Co. ties the flies.

We share bait drops, rigging tutorials, and footage from our trips on Instagram and YouTube.
Our pro staff and ambassadors fish home waters across the West, from Southern California and the Eastern Sierra to Pyramid Lake and Colorado. Follow along to see how the tackle performs on each water.
